Order book turnover on Xetra, the Xetra Frankfurt Specialist trading and Tradegate stood at €97.3 billion in March (March 2012: €118.7 billion). Of the €97.3 billion, €89.6 billion were attributable to Xetra (March 2012: €109.3 billion). €4.3 billion were attributable to the Xetra Frankfurt Specialist trading (March 2012: €5.9 billion). Order book turnover on Tradegate Exchange* totalled approximately €3.3 billion in March (March 2012: €3.5 billion).
In equities, turnover reached €84.7 billion on Deutsche Börse’s cash markets (Xetra: €79.7 billion, Xetra Frankfurt Specialist trading: €2.0 billion, Tradegate Exchange: €3.0 billion). Turnover in bonds was €1.2 billion, and in structured products on Scoach €1.2 billion. Order book turnover in ETFs/ETCs/ETNs amounted to €10.0 billion.
A total of 15.7 million transactions were executed on Xetra in March (March 2012: 19.1 million).
The DAX security with the highest turnover in March was Deutsche Bank AG at €4.7 billion. Metro AG led the MDAX equities at €866.4 million, while IVB Immobilien AG topped the SDAX equity index with €94.3 million, and freenet AG headed TecDAX with €245.7 million. The ETF with the highest turnover on Xetra was iShares DAX with €839.0 million.
