Tullett Prebon Voted Broker Of The Year At 2013 Energy Risk Awards

Date 15/05/2013

Tullett Prebon, one of the world’s leading interdealer brokers (IDB), has been voted Broker of the Year at the 2013 Energy Risk Awards.

The awards recognise firms which have excelled in the sector with entries judged by Energy Risk’s editorial panel and a range of industry experts. The results were announced yesterday at an awards dinner in Houston.

Tullett Prebon’s success was underpinned by the business’ continued growth across a range of markets and products with key highlights including:

  • Increased market coverage of the award winning power team to include all European power markets
  • Strengthened position as the lead provider of commodity volatility products and expansion of soft commodity products
  • Facilitating the trade of over 20 trillion Btus of financial LNG since executing the first brokered transaction of this type in 2011
  • The completion of the LNG desk’s first medium-term cargo deal
  • The launch of the first NBP contract in EUR/MWh in conjunction with Citibank
  • Being ranked number one coal broker in the 2013 SGX Asiaclear Awards
  • A client demand-led increase in the global energy team headcount from 214 to 232

Andrew Polydor, Global Head of Energy and Commodities at Tullett Prebon, commented: “I’m delighted that Tullett Prebon has been voted Broker of the Year at the 2013 Energy Risk awards. This latest win is further testimony to our success in growing our energy businesses globally and the differentiation we’ve been able to create through providing clients with a bespoke service and information which would otherwise be inaccessible to the market. Notably, our innovative work in LNG products has been particularly instrumental in developing the market, with a significant increase in business in both the Atlantic and Pacific Basin.”
