TSX.COM Lists Market On Close Imbalances - Web Listing Will Help Provide Investors With Key Information For Closing-Price Trades - On Toronto Stock Exchange

In order to provide greater visibility and assist in accommodating trading order imbalances in the Market on Close (MOC) facility at the end of the trading day, TSX Markets today announced that all MOC order imbalances are now listed on TSX.com at 3:40 p.m. eastern time every trading day.

The TSX Markets’ MOC facility allows Participating Organizations to execute Market on Close orders on Toronto Stock Exchange at the end of the regular trading session for issues in the S&P TSX 60. “By adding this crucial data to our web site, we believe all market participants will have equal access to this closing trading information and will help them make decisions on their orders,” said Richard Nesbitt, President, TSX Markets.

Market on Close, launched in March 2004, operates in a manner similar to how the current marketplace opens for trading. The final price is calculated by combining the orders in the MOC and continuous market books to determine the closing market price of a security.
