TSX Group Inc. Returns To China…Again!

Date 23/05/2007

TSX Group is once again hitting the road – with another business development tour of China from June 12 – 16. The purpose of this visit is to build on the momentum from previous trips and further promote Canada as a strong player and destination marketplace in the international capital markets arena. TSX Group’s exchanges are 7th largest in the world based on market capitalization data compiled by the World Federation of Exchanges. TSX Group’s exchanges are the world’s leading resources marketplaces with more mining and energy listings than any other exchange group.

Last November, Richard Nadeau, Senior Vice President of Toronto Stock Exchange, led a trip to China in efforts to raise awareness of the strengths of TSX and Canada’s capital markets. And more recently in April, TSX visited Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing to deepen existing Chinese relationships and meet a number of top officials from various government offices and business associations.

This will be TSX’s third China road show over the last 12 months. “Our continued presence in China has added value to the TSX brand on an international scale. Increased interest overseas is in large part due to these road shows”, said Mr. Nadeau. He went on to say, “These potential issuers recognize our status as a world-class exchange and want to learn more about us.”

The TSX Business Development team, led by Abigail Etches, Director, Business Development and Relationship Management and Annie Lin Tao, Manager Business Development, and who is totally dedicated to TSX’s Asian Business Development initiatives, will visit Beijing, Chongqing and Hangzhou. They will pick up where the other trips left off, hosting a series of seminars and meetings designed to promote awareness and encourage confidence in the Canadian marketplace.

Between the two exchanges, there are currently more than 55 Chinese-related companies listed. A list of these issuers is available on tsx.com.

TSX’s trip is being held in conjunction with a number of sponsors from the legal, accounting and investment banking community, including Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, Lang Michener, Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Ernst & Young LLP, BMO Capital Markets, Research Capital Corporation, M Partners Inc., Newhaven Merchant Bankers. “We’re very excited and privileged to have world-class Canadian partners such as these joining us on this road show”, added Mr. Nadeau.
