TSX Group, along with CIBC World Markets, Canaccord Capital (Europe) and Fasken Martineau, will co-host a free seminar on opportunities for accessing North America’s capital markets. The event, at The Savoy in London, will showcase the strength and diversity of Canada’s capital markets, financing alternatives, corporate governance and other regulatory issues, as well as the value of listing on Toronto Stock Exchange.
Robert Fabes, Senior Vice President, Toronto Stock Exchange, said, “for many companies, expansion into North America offers a dynamic new direction in corporate development, allowing them to tap into innovative growth potential. We at TSX see our roles as a gateway to the North American capital markets, financing that growth potential for international companies.”
TSX Group is home to Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange – with diverse listings sectors ranging from traditional mining and energy companies to high tech and new economy industries. More than 50 percent of the world’s mining companies are listed on the two exchanges and there are also more oil and gas companies listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange than any other exchange, or exchange group, in the world.
TSX Group – the cornerstone of Canada’s equity capital market, encompassing Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange - is uniquely qualified to provide a gateway to the North American capital markets. TSX is the third largest exchange in North America, after NYSE and Nasdaq, and the seventh largest exchange in the world. TSX is a prime destination for the listing of growth oriented companies in a variety of industry sectors. In addition, TSX is increasingly regarded by international companies as a well-regulated means of accessing the North American capital markets, but without the enormous cost associated with the regulatory requirements that currently result from an exchange listing in the US.
