Richard Nesbitt, CEO of TSX Group Inc., and Rik Parkhill, President TSX Markets, today announced a significant strengthening of the company's national operations and its Montreal presence with the hiring of Richard Nadeau as Senior Vice President, Toronto Stock Exchange.

Mr. Nadeau’s role will be to build and expand the national and international listings business of the Toronto Stock Exchange. His staff which is based in offices across Canada will service the 1537 companies listed on Toronto Stock Exchange. Richard Nadeau will be a member of the Senior Management Team. He will join TSX Group on March 13 and will be based in Montreal..

In announcing Mr. Nadeau's appointment, Mr. Nesbitt said this a major step in the evolution of TSX Group from a Toronto-based stock exchange to a national company providing markets for multiple classes of assets, including stocks, fixed income instruments through its 45% ownership stake in CanDeal and natural gas and electricity contracts and derivatives through TSX Group’s wholly owned subsidiary, Natural Gas Exchange (NGX). He noted that the company has a presence in Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg and Montreal as well as Toronto and that two exchanges -- TSX Venture Exchange and NGX – are headquartered in Calgary.

Increasing our strength in Montreal is of particular importance to TSX Group, he said. "We now have a greater and more effective presence in Montreal than at any time in our history," Mr. Nesbitt said. "We look forward to tapping Richard’s energy and leveraging his 20 years of experience in the financial industry to grow our listing business both domestically and abroad."
