TSE Announces Intent To Expand TOPIX Series With The Introduction Of Style Indices (Value And Growth Indices)

The Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. (TSE) today has announced its intention to launch new style indices (value and growth) in autumn of this year in an effort to enhance index usability. Details on the specifications and launch date of these indices will be announced when determined.

1. Key index summary
   • 6 indexes (TOPIX Value, TOPIX Growth and 4 TOPIX Size-based value and growth indices)
   • PBR and PER – two widely used indicators – will be used in both the value and growth indices.
   • Periodic review of issues will be once a year
   • Indices will be calculated only on a closing price basis for the present.

   • Official announcement of specification details(June2008 - July2008)
   • Start of calculation(Autumn 2008)
