Trading Volumes Break New Record On Wiener Börse

Trading volumes on Wiener Börse in the month of May broke a new record at EUR 17.7bn. The previous record in trading volume was reached in March at EUR 11.2bn.

In the table of the ten-highest daily trading volumes, May 2006 was represented eight times. The new all-time high was reached on 24 May 2006 with approximately EUR 1.4bn.

ATX loses some ground

In a long-term comparison of indices, the ATX lost some ground. Nonetheless, the ATX is still far ahead of the indices shown below. The Dow Jones Industrial Average performed well compared to the generally slumping markets. The gain achieved is now 2.76%.
