Trading Statistics October 2011 - NASDAQ OMX Nordic Increases Market Share To 72 %

NASDAQ OMX today publishes monthly trade statistics for the Nordic and Baltic markets. Below follows a summary of the highlights for October 2011:

  • The share trading on NASDAQ OMX Nordic decreased by 3.9 % to a daily average of 2.5bn EUR, compared to 2.6bn EUR in October 2010. Compared to the previous month, September 2011, the daily average increased by 4.2 %.
  • NASDAQ OMX Nordic’s share of order-book trading in our listed stocks increased to 71.7 % compared to 70.8 % in September 2011. Foreign marketplaces accounted for 24.9 % of the trading in NASDAQ OMX Nordic shares1.   
  • Derivatives trading decreased by 12.6 % to a daily average of 509,452 contracts, compared with 582,805 contracts in October 2010.
  • ETF trading2 (Exchange Traded Funds) increased by 61.0 % to a daily average of 111m EUR compared to 69m EUR in October 2010.
  • Nokia was the most traded stock on NASDAQ OMX Nordic exchanges during the past month, followed by Volvo.
  • SEB was the most active member on NASDAQ OMX Nordic during the past month, followed by Credit Suisse.
