The total value of trading in equities on the Main Market was PLN 16.6 billion in April 2014, a decrease of 10.4% year on year. The incremental value of session trading was PLN 74.6 billion year to date at the end of April 2014, an increase of 2.5% year on year. The number of transactions increased by 12.9% year on year to 975.5 thousand in April.
The value of session trading in equities on NewConnect increased by 63.5% year on year and stood at PLN 92.5 million in April 2014. The total value of trading increased by 21% to PLN 98.9 million in the period under review. The number of transactions on NewConnect increased from 48.8 thousand in April 2013 to 72.2 thousand in April 2014.
The value of non-Treasury issues listed on Catalyst was PLN 63.6 billion in April 2014, an increase of 16.6% year on year. The total value of trading on Catalyst increased by 48.8% year on year to PLN 275.9 million.
The value of trading in structured products increased by 177% year on year and stood at PLN 53.8 million in April 2014. The value of trading in investment certificates increased by 16.1% year on year to PLN 6.9 million.
The volume of trading in property rights increased by 79% year on year and stood at 2.4 TWh in April 2014. The total volume of trading on the gas market was 574.4 GWh in April 2014, an increase of 34.8% compared to March 2014.
The capitalisation of 407 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 607.2 billion (EUR 144.6 billion) at the end of April 2014.
The total capitalisation of 455 domestic and foreign companies listed on the WSE Main Market was PLN 910.9 billion (EUR 216.9 billion) at the end of April 2014.
Five companies were newly listed on the WSE Main Market in April 2014: CUBE.ITG, LiveChat Software, Prime Car Management, Talanx and Buwog. The two latter companies were, respectively, the 57th and the 58th foreign company listed on WSE (48 companies on the Main Market, 10 companies on Catalyst). The total value of the offerings of the companies newly listed in April was PLN 269.5 million.
Eight companies were newly listed on NewConnect in April 2014: PoznaĆska 37 SPV, WDB Brokerzy Ubezpieczeniowi, PCC Autochem, Polbrand, the City of Marki, Certus Capital, Mikrokasa and Wratislavia-BIO. The total value of their issues stood at PLN 122.7 million.
WSE held 20 trading sessions in April 2014, the same as in April 2013.
