Main Market
The total value of trading in equities on the Main Market was PLN 17.4 billion in May 2013, an increase of 17.2% year on year. Incremental turnover year to date was PLN 107.0 billion, an increase of 23.1% year on year.
The value of session trading in equities on the Main Market was PLN 16.4 billion in May 2013, an increase of 15.3% year on year. The average value of trading per session increased by 21.0% year on year from PLN 678.2 million in May 2012 to PLN 820.8 million in May 2013. The incremental value of session trading increased by 9.2% year on year from PLN 81.7 billion in January-May 2012 to PLN 89.2 billion in January-May 2013.
The WIG index gained 26.5% year on year and gained 0.7% year to date at the end of May 2013.
NewConnect
The total value of trading on NewConnect was PLN 63.1 million in May 2013, a decrease of 24.7% year on year. The incremental value of trading year to date was PLN 410.5 million in January-May 2013, a decrease of 41.1% year on year.
The NCIndex lost 8.6% year to date and lost 19.1% year on year at the end of May 2013.
Derivative Instruments Market2)
Futures contracts: The monthly volume of trading in index futures decreased by 41.6% year on year from 932 thousand contracts in May 2012 to 544 thousand contracts in May 2013. The number of open interest in index futures was 118.2 thousand at the end of May 2013.
The incremental volume of trading in index futures year to date was 3.3 million contracts, a decrease of 18.9% compared to 4.0 million contracts in January-May 2012.
The volume of trading in single-stock futures increased by 16.6% year on year from 44.1 thousand contracts in May 2012 to 51.4 thousand contracts in May 2013. The volume of trading in currency futures also increased by 70.6% year on year to 199.1 thousand in May 2013.
Options: The volume of trading in WIG20 index options was 78.7 thousand in May 2013, an increase of 40.2% year on year. The incremental volume of trading in options increased by 36.5% from 232.4 thousand options in January-May 2012 to 317.3 thousand options in January-May 2013.

Catalyst
The issue value of listed series (corporate, municipal and mortgage bonds) stood at PLN 54.9 billion at the end of May 2013 compared to PLN 41.8 billion in May 2012 (an increase of 31.5%). The monthly value of session trading more than quadrupled from PLN 73.2 million in May 2012 to PLN 321.2 million in May 2013 while the monthly value of total trading increased by more than 10 times to PLN 878.8 million in May 2013.
Treasury BondSpot Poland
The value of cash transactions on Treasury BondSpot Poland decreased by 13.8% year on year to PLN 33.7 billion in May 2013. The value of conditional transactions was PLN 40.7 billion in May 2013 compared to PLN 49.9 billion in May 2012 (a decrease of 18.5% year on year).
Structured Instruments Market
Structured products and investment certificates: The aggregate value of trading in structured products and investment certificates increased by 23.5% from PLN 19.4 million in May 2012 to PLN 23.9 million in May 2013.
ETFs: The value of trading in ETFs was PLN 12.3 million in May 2013 compared to PLN 13.6 million in May 2012.
Commodity Market3)
Electricity: The volume of forward transactions on the WSE Group electricity markets reached 10.1 TWh in May 2013, an increase of 37.7% year on year. The incremental volume of forward transactions in electricity year to date increased by 178.6% year on year. The volume of spot transactions in electricity decreased from 1.8 TWh in May 2012 to 1.5 TWh in May 2013 (a decrease of 14.8%).
Property rights: The monthly volume of trading in property rights decreased by 72.2% year on year from 5.0 TWh in May 2012 to 1.4 TWh in May 2013. The volume of trading in property rights was 26.4 TWh in January-May 2013 compared to 28.0 TWh in January-May 2012.
Natural gas: The total volume of trading on the gas market was 78.6 GWh in May 2013 (34.7 GWh of spot transactions and 43.9 GWh of forward transactions). The incremental total volume of trading in natural gas year to date was 381.7 GWh.
The WSE held 20 trading sessions in May 2013, two less than in May 2012.
