Trading At The Dalian Commodity Exchange Hits New Record Levels

On December 7th, total single-day trading volume, turnover and open interest at the DCE all reached new record levels. Total trading volume reached 7,087,108 contracts, surpassing the previous record of 6,701,668 contracts set on August 13th, 2009. Trading turnover reached a new record level of CNY 353.669 billion, surpassing the previous record of CNY 340.137 billion set just a few days ago on December 4th. Total open interest at the close of trading also hit a new record level of 3,664,450 contracts, surpassing the previous record of 3,580,626 contracts set on December 4th. Trading volumes in the DCE's soybean oil and soybean meal contracts also reached all-time highs. Trading volume in soybean oil reached 1,777,866 contracts, surpassing the previous record of 1,632,236 contracts set on December 4th. Meanwhile, trading in soybean meal well exceeded the previous record of 2,581,988 contracts set on June 5th, 2009, reaching a new record level of 2,744,612 contracts.
