Trading At CBOE Resumes Floor-wide

Date 20/12/2004

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced that trading has resumed floor-wide in equity and Index options, as of 11:37 a.m. CST (Chicago time), with the exception of approximately 125 option classes that had new series added this morning, following December expiration.

(Note: a series is an option contract within a class with a particular strike price and expiration date. For example, if XYZ is the class, the June 75 call is the series).

A floor-wide trading halt, due to a database problem, was called at 9:20 a.m. Trading re-opened in the following indexes by 10:23 a.m.: SPX, OEX, DJX, DIA, NDX, QQQ and IWM.

CBOE, the world's largest options marketplace and the creator of listed options, is regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). For additional information about the CBOE and its products, visit the CBOE website at: http://www.cboe.com/.
