ICAP, the world’s premier interdealer broker, announced today that total electronic broking volumes for the month of October on the BrokerTec and EBS platforms reached US$794.1 billion (bn), an increase of 22% year on year.
Total average daily volumes in fixed income products on the BrokerTec platform were $633.5bn, an increase of 24% on the previous year. Overall repo volumes reached $492.8bn, up 28% year on year. US Treasury electronic broking volumes increased 10% year on year to $140.7bn.
Total average daily volumes on the EBS platform were $160.6bn up 17% year on year.
David Rutter, Deputy CEO of ICAP Electronic Broking, said: “US Treasuries and the US and European Repo markets remain active. We have also seen some encouraging improvement in FX volumes over the last few months.”
