Toronto Stock Exchange Halts Trading In Nortel

The TSE halted trading in Nortel Networks at 11:58am following an unprecedented number of orders that created delays in the TSE’s trading system’s ability to match orders in all stocks. The TSE made this decision in order to maintain a fair and orderly market in all listed stocks.

Nortel trading remains available on other markets. The TSE is working closely with the NYSE to ensure a continuous market is provided for this stock. The TSE will advise when trading in Nortel may resume on the TSE.
