Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. (TSE) today announced that it will begin to provide pricing information on Credit Default Swaps (CDS) on its website, starting April 28, 2009.
In cooperation with Markit, a financial information services company, TSE will publish daily prices for the widely traded Markit iTraxx Japan, a CDS index referencing a basket of 50 Japanese companies. The relevant Markit RED codes, the industry-standard identifiers used throughout the CDS market, will also be provided for the index constituents.
The initiative aims to promote better understanding of CDS among a broad audience by publishing pricing information on a public website.
