Tokyo Stock Exchange Revision Of Deliverable Grade For JGB Futures

Tokyo Stock Exchange will revise the deliverable grade for JGB Futures on 11th September 2000, as follows.

This revision is in response to the introduction of the re-open method for Japanese government bonds issued after March 2001.

5-year JGB Futures

Revised

Publicly offered interest-bearing JGBs with at least 4 but less than 5.25 years remaining to maturity as of the issued* and delivery dates. (The deliverable grade has to be issued at least 3 months prior to the delivery month.)

Current

Publicly offered interest-bearing JGBs with at least 4 but less than 5.25 years remaining to maturity as of the issued and delivery dates. (The deliverable grade has to be issued at least 3 months prior to the delivery month.)

10-year JGB Futures

Revised

Publicly offered interest-bearing JGBs with at least 7 but less than 11 years remaining to maturity as of the issued* and delivery dates. (The deliverable grade has to be issued at least 3 months prior to the delivery month.)

Current

Publicly offered interest-bearing JGBs with at least 7 but less than 11 years remaining to maturity as of the issued and delivery dates. (The deliverable grade has to be issued at least 2 months prior to the delivery month.)

20-year JGB Futures

Revised

Publicly offered interest-bearing JGBs with at least 15 but less than 21 years remaining to maturity as of the issued* and delivery dates. (The deliverable grade has to be issued at least 3 months prior to the delivery month.)

Current

Publicly offered interest-bearing JGBs with at least 15 but less than 21 years remaining to maturity as of the issued and delivery dates. (The deliverable grade has to be issued at least 2 months prior to the delivery month.)

* The issued date for re-opened JGBs will be the date of the oldest issue.

This revision will be implemented from the June 2001 contract month onwards.
