Tokyo Stock Exchange Begins Calculation And Publication Of The "TOPIX And TOPIX Core30 Dividend Index"

Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. (TSE) will begin calculation and publication of the “TOPIX Dividend Index” and “TOPIX Core30 Dividend Index” on July 22, 2010. The indices indicate, in points, the amount of dividends to be obtained if the component stocks of TOPIX or TOPIX Core30 were held during the index calculation period. Additionally, TSE also plans to list futures whose underlyings are these new indices, as well as the Nikkei Dividend Index on July 26, 2010.

1. Outline of Indices

Index Name	TOPIX Dividend Index (XXXX)	TOPIX Core30 Dividend Index (XXXX)
	The calculation period will be included in the name of the index, for example TOPIX Dividend Index (2010).
Index Calculation Method	The value of the index shall be the value V totaled during the period from the first business day of the target year to the date of calculation, where V is the ratio of (a) the product of the dividends for each component stock multiplied by the number of shares for index calculation (reflecting free float weight) versus (b) the base market capitalization of the target index, totaled for the component stocks of the index on a given day. Period of Index Calculation	The first business day of January each year until March the following year. For example, the calculation period for the TOPIX Dividend Index (2010) would be January 4, 2010 – March 31, 2011.

2. License Agreement

The TOPIX Dividend Index and TOPIX Core30 Dividend Index are the intellectual property of TSE, and TSE reserves all rights to calculation, publication, use, etc. of such indices. A license agreement with TSE is required for the creation of financial products (funds, structured bonds, etc.) which use index values of the TOPIX Dividend Index or TOPIX Core30 Dividend Index, or the distribution of these indices.
