Tokyo Stock Exchange Begins Calculating And Publishing New Sector Indices, The "TOPIX-17 Series"

As previously announced on October 10, 2007, Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. (TSE) has begun calculating and publishing new sector indices, the ”TOPIX-17 Series,” starting on December 10, 2007.

The ”TOPIX-17 Series” is based on the current 33 sectors comprised of constituents of the TOPIX index, consolidating them into a group of 17 new indices. They are expected to be utilized to analyze trends in specific industries and also as underlying indices for financial products such as exchange traded
