As part of the agreement, the TGE and CBOT will closely share information about listings of new products, changes to existing contact specifications and trading methods. Furthermore, the two Exchanges will work together in studying new products and in cooperating on educational and marketing programs, such as informational meetings, training sessions on new products and services, and industry research symposiums.
TGE Chairman Takao Morisane said, “TGE has been keen to expand the increasing overseas participation and had interest in deepening our relationship with CBOT. With this MOU we expect market activities and business opportunities to be enhanced not only for TGE and CBOT, but also for the agricultural futures commodity industry as a whole. We welcome the opportunity to be able to work with the largest and most innovative commodity exchange in the world.”
CBOT President and CEO, Bernard Dan said, “This MOU is another example of the CBOT’s aggressive efforts and dedication to develop further relationships with exchanges around the world, particularly in Asia, where there are tremendous opportunities for growth. We look forward to working together with the Tokyo Grain Exchange, one of the most respected and well-established commodity futures exchanges in Japan.”
