The Tokyo Commodity Exchange, Inc. (TOCOM) issued a report on the temporary suspension of Night Session from 5:40 p.m. on August 22nd as follows.
TOCOM will continue to expend all possible means to ensure sound operation of the markets. Your kind understanding and cooperation are highly appreciated.
1. Occurrence of System Trouble
TOCOM temporarily suspended the session at 5:40 pm, since we detected that logins by many of our members were cut off due to a hardware malfunction with a server of its trading system.
2. How we coped with the situation
After separating the malfunctioned server from the trading system and confirmed that the session could be resumed, we started accepting orders at 7:00 p.m., and resumed the session at 8:00 p.m.
As for the malfunctioned server, we replaced the device which caused the trouble.
Our trading system is up and running without any trouble from the start of online on Wednesday, August 23.
