Along with the contract unit, the delivery unit for silver has been modified from 60 kg to 30 kg (applicable from the October 2007 contract onward; also including early deliveries in September 2007).
Accordingly, 60 kg warehouse receipts will not be valid for delivery from the October 2007 contract onward, and the regulations on the said warehouse receipts will be modified as specified below.
In addition, issued 30 kg warehouse receipts will continue to be valid after this modification is in effect.- 60 kg receipts must be divided into 30 kg receipts before delivery.
- With regards to this division, the holder of a 60 kg receipt must submit it to the Exchange, after which the latter will proceed with the division procedure on behalf of the holder.
- The Exchange will bear the cost related to the issuing fee for the division procedure at the warehouse.
- 60 kg warehouse receipts will be accepted from August 1st, 2007 onward.
- 60 kg receipts can only be submitted to the Exchange once any unpaid storage fees have been settled.
- Storage fee payments can be made at TOCOM-designated warehouses or at Toko Shotori Shinko Co., Ltd. (on the 5 floor of the TOCOM Bldg.).
