Listing shares in Canada will be on the agenda during a one day seminar today in Mexico City. This is the first roadshow visit of the Toronto Stock Exchange to Mexico. Officials from TMX Group will discuss the benefits of listing on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange during a Mining & Money Conference at the Nikko Hotel in Mexico City.
Rob Fotheringham, Senior Vice-President of Trading and Janis Koyanagi, Director of Business Development & Strategy, will make presentations on the markets and answer questions from potential issuers. Also expected to speak at the conference are the Hon. Eduardo Sojo, Secretary of Economy, Mexico and the Hon. Norberto Roque, Mexican Mining Under Secretary.
Mr. Fotheringham sees the benefits of local issuers dually listing shares in both Mexico and Canada. “Both of our countries share a long proud history in mining as the sector continues to be a driving force behind our economies. Our goal today is to demonstrate the unique TSX value proposition as a platform for growth capital for mining companies. We are strong advocates of leveraging a tandem listing on the home market with the Bolsa. We hope that we can work with the Bolsa to support cross-listings of mining companies.”
TMX Group exchanges are home to 198 listed companies with properties in Mexico.
The Mining & Money: TSX - a global resource for capital conference is sponsored by Sedna Serficor (Mexico), Fraser Milner Casgrain, Canaccord Adams and Deloitte.
