TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for July 2011.
Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange together welcomed 41 new listings in July 2011, including 15 issuers from the mining sector.
Toronto Stock Exchange listed 16 new issuers during the month, up from 11 the same month a year earlier, and down from 31 new issuers the previous month. While total financings raised increased by 1% in July 2011 compared to July 2010, they were down 61% compared to
June 2011.
TSX Venture Exchange welcomed 25 new issuers during July 2011, exceeding the previous month by 25%; new listings were 56% ahead of the same month a year earlier. Six companies graduated to Toronto Stock Exchange during July 2011, which was the same as the previous month and ahead of July 2010 which had one graduate.
On a year-to-date basis, both Exchanges continue to surpass 2010 levels for new issuers listed, IPOs and total financings raised.
