TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for February 2014.
Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 16 new issuers in February 2014, up from 6 the previous month and up from 3 the same month a year earlier. The new listings included 12 exchange traded funds, 2 mining companies, 1 structured product and 1 diversified industries company. Total financings raised in February 2014 decreased 49% compared to the previous month, but was up 75% compared to February 2013. The total number of financings in February 2014 was 63, up from 46 the previous month, and up from 33 the same month a year earlier.
TSX Venture Exchange welcomed 4 new issuers in February 2014, down from 6 the previous month, but up from 3 in February 2013. The new listings included 1 life sciences company, 1 mining company, 1 oil & gas company and 1 company from the Capital Pool Company program. Total financings raised in February 2014 increased 119% from the previous month, and increased 34% from February 2013. There were 128 financings in February 2014 compared to 163 in January 2014 and 146 the same month a year earlier.
