TMX Group Inc. today announced its equity financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for February 2010.
TSX Venture Exchange had another strong month with 14 new issuers listed, which is double the number of new listings in February 2009. Total equity financing year-to-date February 2010 was 357.5% ahead of the same period in 2009.
Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 13 new issuers to the market in February and 28 so far this year compared to two in the first two months of 2009. New issuers in February include seven exchange traded funds as well as a California-based industrial company.
The total market capitalization on both markets was up significantly in February 2010 compared to February 2009. Toronto Stock Exchange was up 50.5% and TSX Venture Exchange was up 82.8%.
