313,367 contracts were concluded on the TLX markets in October, a new all-time record, for a value of € 9.3 billion.
2,793,000 were executed in the first nine months of 2009, in increase of 44% over the same period of 2008, for a total value of € 79 billion (+15%). The daily average number of contracts rose from 9,025 to 12,929.
The number of liquidity providers in the TLX markets has increased. BNL of the BNP Paribas group was added on 28 October, providing liquidity on 100 corporate and financial bonds in competition with other market makers already operating on EuroTLX.
For the first time, a bank not a shareholder of TLX S.p.A. is authorized for market making on financial instruments not issued by the same intermediary, confirming that the market is more receptive to new types of liquidity provider.
A new adherent to the markets as specialist is Banco Desio, which since the 27th has been providing liquidity on 120 of the group's bank bonds.
The arrival of BNL BNP Paribas and Banco Desio bolsters the liquidity of the TLX markets, increasingly a point of reference for non-professional investors in the trading of debt instruments and investment certificates.
The dissemination of data on the TLX markets has also be extended: from 30 October, in fact, Bloomberg has been added to the information providers that distribute pricing information on the TLX markets.
