Thailand Futures Exchange PCL (TFEX) appointed Trinity Polaris Futures Co., Ltd. (TIPOL) to be a market maker for SET50 Index Futures starting April 2, 2007.
TIPOL will join the two existing maker makers - KGI Securities (Thailand) PCL and Phatra Securities PCL, TFEX Managing Director Ms. Kesara Manchusree said.
“Since September 2006, TFEX has had market makers helping maintain the liquidity of each SET50 Index Futures contracts series. The presence of market makers facilitates investment by assuring investors of liquidity and reinforcing their confidence – which is essential to healthy investment. Having TIPOL as an additional market maker will further boost the market’s attractiveness,” Ms. Kesara said.
The firm is set up to operate as a derivatives broker and allied with Trinity Securities Group and Polaris Group, a leading Taiwanese financial service provider and derivatives broker. In 2006, Trinity Polaris Futures Co., Ltd had a 9.24% market share of Thai derivatives trading.
