Three Debut Listings Of Foreign Companies On The WSE Within A Week

Date 06/05/2011

  • First UK listing on NewConnect
  • First week in WSE history with three foreign debut listings on WSE stock markets

AerFinance Plc has been debut listed today as the first UK company on NewConnect. It is the sixth foreign listing on the WSE alternative market, the 56th debut listing on NewConnect this year, and the 37th foreign listing on the WSE stock markets.

AerFinance Plc is a holding which invests in and manages companies in the air industry. The company is planning to trade in and lease commercial aircraft.

AerFinance Plc was listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange from February 2008 to 30 December 2010; however, given that the company had no business presence on the German market, it was de-listed in Frankfurt and introduced to trading on NewConnect. The company raised PLN 6.8 million in a public offering in the UK.

The number of foreign listings on the WSE is growing dynamically. Including today’s debut, the Warsaw Stock Exchange markets list 37 companies from 19 countries. Two Ukrainian companies were debut listed in the first week of May: Industrial Milk Company with an offering worth over PLN 80.7 million on 5 May, and KSG Agro which raised over PLN 108 million in a public offering. The Exchange is expecting more foreign debut listings including the first Slovenian company scheduled to be listed on the WSE Main Market next week.

NewConnect enjoys growing interest of both Polish and international investors, which impacts the market turnover. April 2011 was a record-breaking month in the history of NewConnect as the value of trading reached PLN 236.6 million.
