Thomson Reuters Wins The Asian Banker Financial Markets Awards 2014 - Thomson Reuters Honoured For Strong FX Trading And Reference Data Capabilities

Date 22/05/2014

Thomson Reuters, the world’s leading source of intelligent information for businesses and professionals, today announced it has been awarded ‘Trading Platform of the Year’ and ‘Trading & Reference Data Provider of the Year’ in The Asian Banker Financial Markets Awards. The winners were selected by The Asian Banker editorial team in consultation with an international panel of advisors comprising industry leaders, practitioners and academics.

Thomson Reuters was awarded ‘Trading Platform of the Year’ in recognition of its range of foreign exchange pre-trade, trade and post-trade services and speedy execution offered to various segments of the financial markets, including global and regional banks, institutional investors, corporate clients, asset management firms and retail brokers, through its Thomson Reuters Dealing, Matching and FXall capabilities.

In addition, the company was named ‘Trading & Reference Data Provider of the Year,’ for its breadth and depth of high quality evaluated pricing and referential content, both in real time and non-real time contexts, covering all asset classes, with specific areas of foreign exchange, pricing reference and evaluation, indices and regulatory compliance. The award also reflects expansions made over the last year in Thomson Reuters Elektron hosting footprint in Asia Pacific, ensuring low latency delivery of high quality data to its customers.

“We are honoured to have been recognised for both our foreign exchange trading capabilities and the breadth, depth and reach of Thomson Reuters comprehensive data solutions in the Asia region,” said Sanjeev Chatrath, managing director for Asia, Financial & Risk, at Thomson Reuters. “This award represents the combined efforts of our dedicated teams and our commitment to work closely with our clients to develop innovative ways of providing trading and reference data and FX tools that keep them informed and help them to execute effectively and efficiently.”

This is the first year Thomson Reuters has been recognised by The Asian Banker magazine’s Financial Markets Awards, which seeks to benchmark institutional achievement and performance in the markets and exchanges landscape of the Asia Pacific region. It follows a series of recent award wins for the business including being named ‘Best Technology Provider for Islamic Banking’ in the Asset Triple A Islamic Finance Awards 2014, and ‘Best Multibank and Independent Platform’ for the twelfth year in a row in the 2014 Euromoney Foreign Exchange Survey.
