Date 16/06/2003

On June 13, 2003, the Warsaw Stock Exchange launched its new index calculation module INDEXATOR. This new index module allows for more frequent publication of indices, introduction of new indicators and improved data dissemination. The application is Exchange's own product, as the software was developed in-house by WSE specialists.

WIG20 Published With Higher Frequency

Following the launch of the INDEXATOR, values of the WIG20 WSE blue-chip index are now published every 15 seconds during continuous trading (previously WIG20 values were published every 30 seconds).

There will be no changes in the frequency of publication the TechWIG index (every 30 seconds), as well as the WIG and MIDWIG indices (every 60 seconds). The NIF index value is now published every 2 minutes (previously 1.5 minutes).

New Indicators

Before the opening of the trading session, until the opening index values are published the Exchange will publish for each of its indices their theoretical values based on theoretical opening prices and transactions that have already been concluded in a given index constituent stocks.

Additionally, in the case of the WIG20 index, the values based on the best bid and ask offers concerning the index constituent stocks will also be published during continuous trading.

In future, this application will be used also to calculate foreign indices, as well as various customised indicators.
