The Warsaw Stock Exchange Derivatives Market – April 2007

The investor engagement on the derivatives market increases. At the end of April 2007 the open interest on all derivatives was 103,719 instruments and it was the highest value of that indicator calculated at the end of a month in the WSE history.

In April 2007 the total turnover volume on all derivative products amounted 469,489 instruments. Since the beginning of the year (4 month of turnover) the volume amounted 2.6 mln instruments, that was almost 40% of the whole last year volume. Volume of the last 12 months (May 2006 – April 2007) amounted more than 7.1 mln instruments (only at previous month the value calculated for the last 12 months was higher – only 5,361 instruments more).

Also the interest of foreign investors on derivatives quoted at the WSE increases. Share in turnover on derivatives of the foreign remote members amounted 3.53% towards to 0.19% in January 2007.
