The TSE earlier experienced system problems and halted trading in Nortel Networks at 10:02am.
Trading was briefly reopened at 11:10am, then halted again. These halts were because of delays in the TSE's ability to match orders in one stock. The TSE made these decisions in order to maintain a fair and orderly market in that one stock.
The TSE is monitoring this situation very closely and will be conducting a number of controlled halts and resumptions throughout the rest of the trading day to ensure the market and order flow remains available to investors.
Today's issues relate to the TSE order book processing capacity and are not related to Nortel.
