As part of the agreement, the TGE and AFET will closely share information about listings of new products, changes to existing contact specifications and trading methods. Furthermore, the two Exchanges will work together in studying new products and in cooperating on educational and marketing programs, such as informational meetings, training sessions on new products and services, and industry research symposiums.
TGE Chairman, Takao Morisane said “This MoU is a part of TGE plans to create a global agricultural futures exchange network. We have been keen to expand the increasing overseas participation and had interest in deepening our relationship with our fellow Asian exchanges. As the birth of TGE’s predecessor is with rice futures, we feel that with AFET’s August white rice futures launch that we will have much in common and look forward to work together with this emerging Exchange.”
