On April 21, 2007, the tenth anniversary of Shenzhen Stock Exchange Research Institute (SSERI) and the Forum for Development and Innovation of the Capital Market were held in Shenzhen.
Shang Fulin, Chairman of China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), expressly wrote the following inscription for SSERI: Train first-class talents, create first-class achievements, thus making greater contributions for the development of China's capital market.
More than 100 industry leaders, experts and scholars from securities supervision authorities, securities companies, fund management companies and research institutions attended the anniversary.
The tenth anniversary of Shenzhen Stock Exchange Research Institute went on in the warm atmosphere of the Forum for Development and Innovation of the Capital Market.
The forum discussed the following issues based on the theme of the development and innovation of China's capital market: difficult system problems in financial transformation, innovations and developments of close-ended funds, policies and product innovations of the securities market, product development trends and inspiration of overseas exchanges, and promotion of reforms of city commercial banks.
At the forum, Chen Jianbo, a research fellow with the Development Research Center under the State Council and an expert in rural finance issues, and Qi Bin, director of the Research Center under the CSRC, made excellent lectures.
In order to adapt to and bring about development of China's securities market, Shenzhen Stock Exchange set up the SSERI in April, 1997. Over the past decade, the SSERI has completed nearly 200 research reports on information disclosure, corporate governance, investor activity study, research and development of new products, trading systems, etc. In addition, the SSERI was awarded the National Youth Civilization by the CPC Central Financial Work Committee in May, 2001.
Furthermore, the SSERI established Shenzhen Stock Exchange Post-Doctoral Laboratory (SSEPDL), the first post-doctoral workstation in the securities industry, in December 1999. Up till now, the SSEPDL has already recruited 8 batches of 72 post-doctoral researchers, of which 5 batches of 48 post-doctoral researchers have left the workstation.
Song Liping, vice general manager of Shenzhen Stock Exchange, chaired the tenth anniversary of Shenzhen Stock Exchange Research Institute and the Forum for Development and Innovation of the Capital Market.
