The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Market Turnover Increases in January

The average daily turnover for the 20 trading days in January was HKD5,222 million, an increase of 46 per cent compared with the previous month but a decrease of 41 per cent as compared with HKD8,860 million in January 1998. Total turnover value for the month was HKD104,448 million compared with HKD78,804 million last month and HKD159,478 million in January 1998.
