Equities
In July trading in equities on the Spanish market through SIBE amounted to € 91.53 bn which represents a year on year increase of 11%. The number of trades reached 1.5 million.
The accumulated trading volume posted since January has come in at € 623.3 bn, 23 % up on 2005. The number of trades was 27% up on the year.
Trading on the Latibex market in July came in at € 56million, which represents a 18% increase on last year. The number of trades increased 9%.
Accumulated trading volume on the Latibex market to July was € 456 million, 58% up on 2005. The number of trades on this market grew over 72% on the year.
As to the new ETF segment, which started on July 20th, the value of trading on this market came in at € 189 million, with more than 200 operations.
The return on the IBEX 35® index in July was 2.34% and the accumulated growth during the year came in at 10.1%. The return on the IBEX 35® with dividends for the same period was 12.77%. The monthly returns on the IBEX MEDIUM CAP® and IBEX SMALL CAP® were 14.74% and 13.67% respectively. The return on the FTSE Latibex TOP index in July was 2.29%.
Trading volumes in July on the warrants and certificates market came in at € 188
million. The number of trades reached 29,705. The accumulated figure to July was € 1.72 bn million, 31% up on 2005 and the number of trades during this period increased by 40% on the year. Futures and Options In July Futures and Options trading through MEFF came in at 2.3 million contracts, 20% up on the same month in 2005. It is worth mentioning the strong trading volume reached by stock futures, with 775,362 contracts and a 138% increase on the year. IBEX 35® Futures trading came in at 484,786 contracts, 20% up on July 2005 and Mini Futures, which posted a 30% growth on the year, hitting 123,456 contracts. The accumulated trading volume on MEFF to July was 27.5 million contracts, 28% up on same period last year. It is worth mentioning the strong trading volume reached by IBEX 35® Futures, with 3.6 million contracts and a 26% year on year increase, stock options, with 7.5 million contracts and a 47% year on year increase and Mini futures, with 916,341 contracts and a 38% increase on the year. Corporate Debt
Corporate Debt trading on AIAF in July was € 76.78 bn, leaving an accumulated trading volume of € 498.63, a 0.2% increase on the year. New issues in July came in at € 53.86 bn, 27% up on July 2005. The total volume of new issues during the first half represented € 299.28 bn, posting a 20% increase on the year. The outstanding balance at the end of July was € 534.3 bn, recording an increase of 35.5% on the same period in 2005. Accumulated net financing provided during the first half grew 6.4% on the year, reaching € 91.9 bn. SENAF
