Equities
The equity trading volume on the Spanish Stock Exchange to February was €110.141 billion, down 4.7% from the same period last year. The trading volume in February was €42.37 billion, down 7.1% from the same month in 2012.
The number of trades to February reached 6.8 million, down 6% from the same period last year while in February the figure increased 2.8% from the same period a year earlier and 7.2 from January to 3.5 million.
As for the ETF segment, the trading volume to February came in at €563 million, up 70% from the same period last year. In February the trading volume came in at €298.5 million, up 114% from February 2012.
The number of trades in ETFs to February totaled 9,881, up 86% from the same period in 2012. In February the number of trades reached 5,891, a 136% increase from the same period in 2012.
Futures and options
In February trading on BME’s Derivatives Market came in at 3.60 million contracts, up 8.7% from the same period a year earlier.
Trading in the Futures on Indices segment in February was 664.005 contracts, up 45% from the figure posted for the same month in 2012. In Options on Indices the trading volume came in at 482,076 contracts, a threefold increase from February 2012.
Warrants and Certificates
The volume of warrants and certificates admitted to trading in 2013 totaled 1,880. Activity on the market to February totaled €138 million, down 19% from the same period in 2012. The trading volume in February came in at €74.9 million, down 9.3% from the same month in 2012.
The number of trades to February in this market totaled 32,687, down 17% from a year earlier. In February 17,878 trades were executed, a 9.6% decrease from the same month in 2012.
Corporate Debt
The trading volume to February totaled €99.30 billion, down 49.6% from the same period last year.
New issues in February reached €25.51 billion on the Corporate Debt market, down 42.4% from the same period last year.
The outstanding balance at the end of February was €865.32 billion, down 2.1% from the same period a year earlier.
