The Spanish stock exchange will tomorrow start trading the new fund Lyxor ETF Euro Cash, a new ETF issued by Lyxor Asset Management. With this new issue, the Spanish market’s ETF segment will total 27 funds.
The value of trading on the ETF segment in the two first months of the year totalled € 2.522 million, five times more than the same period in 2007.
The Spanish stock market’s ETF segment was created on 20 July 2006. Following the listing of the new ETF, BME looks forward to launching new funds on other underlying indices, as part of its effort to increase the range of financial products offered to the financial community.
Exchange traded funds (ETFs) are fund-share hybrid investment vehicles that combine the best of both worlds in a single stock exchange transaction: the diversification of a fund’s portfolio and the flexibility that share trading offers.
These instruments have opened up a wide range of investment opportunities for retail and institutional investors, who are able to gain exposure to different countries, sectors and asset classes through a single stock exchange transaction, in real time and at a lower cost than that of other investment vehicles.
