The Spanish Exchanges Offer Listed Companies An Internet- Based Service To Cover Corporate Governance-Related Matters

In accordance with the deadline set by a ministerial order, listed companies are to have a website before February 9th.

Via their Internet-based services, the four Spanish exchanges are to offer listed companies the possibility of meeting all disclosure requirements envisaged by, the ministerial order dated December 26. This rule establishes the new regulation included in the so-called Ley de Transparencia of July 2003. (Disclosure Act)

Through this service, any company listed on the Spanish market, which is made up of 3,000 companies including SiMs and SIMCAVS, will be able to meet the website-related requirements envisaged by the new regulations in a simple, dynamic and transparent way.

The new regulations stipulate that all listed companies must have a website which contains, inter alia, the company's articles of association, the General Meeting and Board of Directors' regulations, the Annual Report, Corporate Governance reports and relevant facts, including periodic financial information.

With this initiative, the exchanges which form the BME group, affirm their commitment to developing and boosting new efficient products and services in the interest of the financial community as well as persevering in their goals of innovation and strength in order to serve best the Spanish securities industry.
