The Spanish Exchange Trades 98 New Warrants Issued By SCH - With These Issues, The Number Of Warrants Traded On The Market Stands Now At 1,376 Of Which 593 Have Been Trading Since The Start Of The Year.

The Spanish Exchange today began to trade 98 new warrants issued by Santander Central Hispano. The new issues are linked to a wide range of underlying assets, including domestic and foreign shares and indices as well as exchange rates.

Concerning the warrants on domestic shares, 61 were issued on the following stocks: Abertis, Altadis, BBVA, Endesa, Gas Natural, Iberdrola, Inditex, Indra, Banco Popular, Repsol, Santander, Telefónica, Telefónica Moviles, TPI and Zeltia.

The number of warrants issued on foreign shares are 11, namely: Deutsche Telekom, France Telecom and Nokia.

As to the warrants on indices, 7 were issued on the Ibex 35, 3 on the Dow Jones Industrial Average, 3 on the Nikkei and another 3 on the Dow Jones Eurostoxx50.

As regards exchange rates, 10 issues were made on the Euro / Dollar exchange rate.

Among the issues are call and put warrants, all of which work in the same way as American warrants, that is, they are exercised automatically by the issuer and their expiry date is 17 March 2006.
