The Spanish Exchange today began to trade 377 new warrants issued by Commerzbank. The listing of these warrants will increase the number of underlying assets on which warrants can be traded on the Spanish market to over 100.
The new issues are linked to a wide range of strike prices and underlying assets, including domestic and foreign shares and indices as well as exchange rates.
As to the warrants on domestic shares, 183 were issued on the following underlying assets: Abertis, Acciona, Acerinox, ACS, Altadis, Banco Popular, Bankinter, BBVA, SCH, Ferrovial, Gamesa, Gas Natural, Iberdrola, Iberia, Inditex, Indra, Metrovacesa, Repsol, Sogecable, Telefónica, Unión Fenosa and Zeltia. Acciona and Zeltia have been incorporated as underlying assets for the first time on the market.
As regards the warrants on foreign shares, 152 were issued on the following underlying assets: Alcatel, Allianz, Axa, Bayer, BNP Paribas, Cisco, Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Telekom, E.ON, EADS, Ebay, Enel, Eni, Exxon Mobil, Fiat, France Telecom, Google, ING, Microsoft, Mittal Steel, Nokia, Pfizer, Porsche, Sanofi, Siemens, Total and Yahoo.
As regards international indices, 10 warrants were issued on the IBEX 35®, 10 on the DAX, 5 on the Nasdaq index and 6 on the Nikkei.
As to exchange rates, 11 warrants were issued on the Euro / Dollar exchange rate.
Among the issues are call and put warrants and their expiry dates are in December 2006 and March and June 2007. They are all American style, that is, they are exercised automatically on the expiry date.
