The number of warrants admitted to trading during the first quarter was a record 1,505.
The Spanish Exchange today began trading 176 new warrants issued by BBVA Banco de Financiación. The number of warrants admitted to trading to March hit a new record, at 1,505.
The underlying assets for the warrants are domestic and foreign shares and indices as well as exchange rates.
The Spanish shares that will act as the underlying assets for 63 warrants are as follows: Acerinox, ACS, BBVA, Gas Natural, Iberdrola, Inditex, Indra, Banco Popular, Repsol, Sabadell, SCH, Sogecable, Telefónica and Unión Fenosa.
The 78 warrants on foreign shares, were issued on the following underlying assets: Alcatel-Lucent, Apple, AXA, Bayer, BNP Paribas, Cisco Systems, Daimler Chrysler, Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Telekom, Ebay, E.On, France Telecom, Google, ING, Microsoft, Nokia, Pfizer, Siemens, Total and Yahoo.
As to indices, 5 warrants were issued on the IBEX 35® index, 4 on the Dow Jones Eurostoxx50, 3 on the Dow Jones Industrial Average and 3 on the Nikkei.
As to the warrants on exchange rates, 20 were issued in total, 5 of them on the Euro / Yen, 10 on the Euro / Dollar and 5 on the Dollar / Mexican Peso.
Among the issues are call and put warrants, all of which work in the same way as American warrants, that is, they are exercised automatically by the issuer on the expiry date, in this case in September and December 2007.
