The Spanish Exchange today began trading 102 warrants issued by Société Générale. These issues will bring the total amount of warrants listed to over 3,600, hitting a record in the history of the market.
The new issues are linked to a wide range of underlying assets such as international shares, indices and exchange rates.
As to the warrants on international indices, 25 were listed on the market: 4 on the Dow Jones Industrial Average, 4 on the Nasdaq, 5 on the Nikkei, 4 on the Dow Jones Eurostoxx 50, 4 on the RJ/CRB index and 4 on the Xetra. It is worth mentioning the incorporation of the RJ/CRB index as a new underlying asset, which is a futures index on commodities denominated in dollars.
Regarding international shares, 71 warrants were issued on the following underlying assets: Alcatel, Apple, Cisco Systems, DaimlerChrysler, Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Telekom, EADS, EDF, Ebay, France Telecom, Google, Mittal Steel, Nokia Pfizer, Total Fina and Yahoo.
Regarding commodities, 6 warrants were issued on the Brent oil futures contract.
Among the issues are call and put warrants, with expiry dates in March, May and September 2007. They are all American style, except for the Brent oil contract and the RJ/CRB, which are European style.
The value of premiums traded on the market up to November 15th hit a record € 2,523 million.
