- Record highs in Futures and Options: trading to the end of November totaled 85.2 million contracts, up 2.1% from the entire figure registered in 2008.

- Trading volume on the Corporate Debt market since January came in at €3.37 trillion, up 61.5% from the same period a year earlier.
Equities
In November the equity trading volume was €84.83bn, up 16% from the same period a year earlier. The trading volume in the first eleven months of the year totalled €814.26 bn.
In November the trading volume in equities came in at 7.48 billion shares, down 56% from the same month in 2008. The total number of shares traded since January totalled 106.22bn, just 5.5% below the figure for the same period in 2008.
The number of trades came in at 2.52 million, down 24.5% from the same month in 2008. The number of trades to the end of November totalled 29.28 million, down 15.9% from the same period a year earlier.
In November the trading volume in ETFs reached €498.3 million, the highest figure so far this year and the figure for the eleven months of the year totalled €3.16 bn. The number of trades in this segment to the end of November totalled 46,823, up 106% from the same period in 2008. The number of trades on this segment in November came in at 4,841million, up 67% from the same period a year ago.
Futures and Options
In November trading on BME’s Derivatives Market, came in at 5.7 million Futures and Options contracts, with heavy trading in Options on Stocks, at 3.5 million contracts, up 79% from November last year.
The number of contracts traded in the first eleven months of the year was 85.2 million contracts, up 14% from the same period in 2008. The figure exceeds by 2.1% the total trading in Futures and Options reached in 2008.
Also worthy of note is the trading volume in Options on Stocks on this market to the end of November, which totalled 31.9 million contracts, up 105% from the same period in 2008.
Warrants and Certificates
The number of warrants traded to the end of November totalled 6,474. The trading volume in November on the warrants and certificates market came in at €134 million, down 35% from the same month a year earlier. The number of trades was 27,940, down 30.6% from the same period a year ago.
The trading volume to the end of November totalled €1.7bn, down 39.1% from the same period in 2008 and the number of trades during the same period came in at 336,949, down 39.1% from the same period a year earlier.
Corporate Debt
Corporate Debt trading on BME’s Corporate Debt Market to the end of November totalled €3.37 trillion, up 61.5% from the same period a year earlier. The trading volume in November reached €251.74bn, down 14.1% from the same period a year earlier.
New issues to the end of November came in at €366.91bn, down 15% from the same period in 2008. New issues in November totalled €24.13bn, down 43.7% from November 2008.
The outstanding balance of Corporate Debt at the end of November was €881bn, up 8.3% from the same period a year earlier.
