The Spanish Equity Derivatives Market Has A Total Growth Of 47%. Options On Shares Growth 187%

The Spanish equity derivatives market, MEFF RV, registered a volume of 968,354 contracts, accumulating a total volume of 11,534,721 in the first eleven months; a 47% growth over the same period of last year. Options on Shares have experienced the biggest growth with a 187% increase.
The total number of contracts traded in November was 968,354. The November volume represents a daily average of 46,112 contracts (some 2,149 million notional euros, or 358,000 million pesetas per day).
The number of IBEX-35 futures contracts traded in October was 413,859, a daily average of 17,908 contracts.
Trading in IBEX-35 options contracts totalled 110,040 for a daily average of 5,240 contracts.
Options on shares registered a total of 444,455 contracts traded in November, for a daily average of 21,165. BBV registered the briskest trading, with 142,511 contracts (the equivalent of 14,251,100 shares) followed by Telefónica with 108,873, BSCH with 42,802, Endesa with 40,792, and Repsol with 28,050.
Open interest showed a total of 2,439,133 contracts, with a growth of 10% over the period month.
