The RTS Index Was Ranked The Second Fastest Growing Index In The World In The Second Quarter 2001

According to Merrill Lynch World Stock Market Performance ranking, the RTS Index was the second fastest growing index in the world in the II quarter of 2001.

Since 30 March through 29 June the RTS Index posted a 27.5% growth compared to the first quarter. In the first six months of the year the RTS Index gained 51%.

The raking is headed by the Istanbul Stock Exchange which shows a 39.7% second-quarter increase. In general, says Merrill Lynch, the number of stock markets showing positive returns increased in the second quarter of 2001.
