The Prague Energy Exchange has a new Secretary General, David Ku?era, appointed by the Exchange Chamber of the Energy Exchange. David Ku?era has long term experience in energy trading which he acquired as the Financial Director and Member of the Board of the Swiss company Atel Energy AG (originally Entrade AG), where he worked since May 2000, or since the establishment of the company. Thanks to his previous experience in finances and risk management, these areas also fell under his duties during his time with Atel Energy AG, among others. Amongst his successes is creation of a professional representation of Atel Energy in Prague as well as finding a strategic investor who used its capital to enter the company. Prior to joining Entrade/Atel Energy AG, he worked in Patria Finance, a.s., in the Corporate Finance Department.
David Ku?era graduated from the Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, and the Clemson University in the USA, where he obtained his MBA. Aside from his mother tongue he is fluent in English and also communicates in German and Russian. Ku?era is married and devotes his free time to family and sports.
The Prague Energy Exchange was established with the goal of transparent price creation on the domestic electricity market. The newly established market will offer electricity trading in the form of term derivatives. The trading will fully utilize a platform that is being created based on the proven trading systems of the Prague Stock Exchange.
The supreme body of the Prague Energy Exchange is the Exchange Chamber chaired by Petr Koblic – Director General of the Prague Stock Exchange. Helena ?acká, General Director of UNIVYC, is the Vice-Chair of the Exchange Chamber. JUDr. Bohumil Havel, PhD., a member of the Exchange Chamber, focuses on university lecturing and is a member of the legislative council of the Czech government.
