The Philadelphia Stock Exchange will observe Veterans Day on Friday, Nov. 10 at 9:15 a.m. by honoring the members of the armed services, past and present, with a special bell-ringing ceremony. The family of Joseph F. Lodise Jr., a former PHLX employee who lost his life in Viet Nam at the age of 20, will ring the opening bell in his honor.
Major General Jessica L. Wright, Adjutant General and Commander of the Pennsylvania National Guard will speak on behalf of the military. Zachary Heller, the 2006 winner of the Lights of Liberty Teen Idol Search for the Greatest “God Bless America” will sing this song. The 18-year-old high school senior sang with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops during the July 3 “Pops on Independence” concert in Philadelphia.
Remarks will begin promptly at 9:15 a.m., 15 minutes before trading begins.
