The Philadelphia Stock Exchange Announces September Volume

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange announced today that equity option volume in September jumped 69.63% when 13,006,001 contracts traded compared to the same period last year when 7,667,372 contracts traded. Equity option volume increased 9.13% compared to previous month when 11,917,768 contracts traded.

Volume in sectors index options in September increased 55.63% when 532,127 contracts traded compared to 341,915 contracts traded in the same year-ago period. Sectors index options volume in September increased 6.02% compared to previous month when 501,925 contracts traded.

Equity volume for September decreased 46.23% when 108,999,320 shares traded compared to the same year-ago period when 202,704,654 shares traded. Equity volume in September declined 5.80% when compared to the previous month when 115,705,116 shares traded.

Trading volume in the customized and standardized currency options for September totaled 13,578 Volume increased 20.82% compared to the previous month when 11,238 contracts traded
